I don't think they are interested. Once people are indoctinated (brainwashed) they just go along doing whatever the Watchtower tells them to do no matter how bored and miserable it makes them.

well just like everyone else, we were visited by 2 old ladies.

mr. rebel8 was home and it went something like, "we're on a worldwide mission and we wanted to know if we could just leave this in your door.

sunday my father, a strong believing witness, former elder and still a ms, collapses at home after the new light watchtower study.. the cause was extreme stress.

i asked him about his worries.

I think a lot of witnesses are feeling a lot of stress these days trying to force themselves to believe they have the "truth". They just can't seem to admit to themselves that they have been wrong. And they fear what would happen to them if they did.

What proof do we have? How did we pass the inspection in 1919?

with the new light, the governing body apparently passed the master's inspection due to our focus on preaching the kingdom at that time.

we were the only ones doing this according to the july wt re all those changes.. but, were we really doing this in 1918?

i thought it was only the colporteurs.

There is no evidence whatsoever that there was a test given by Jesus in 1919 and they were the only ones that passed it. It is easy to ace a fantacy test that you made up. Unfortunately a good Jehovah's Witness never questions anything they say. They just accept it as truth.

My August Update

i don't really have a purpose in this thread, but wanted to share my thoughts and updates.. fading has, at least for now, totally stabilized.

my jw wife doesn't discuss jw things and, as difficult for me as it is, i haven't been discussing anything directly against jw policy.

oh, i slip in comments when she tries to judge people or groups based on her jw training- things like gay marriage, medical marijuana, pedophile news stories.

I think your doing the best you can in your situation. I gave up arguing JW issues years ago with my wife but like you I slip things in once and a while. I wonder if you find it as hard as I do to figure out why they seem to allow certain non jw things in their lives while seemingly holding firm to other things. I once got my wife to go to some lesbian friends house warming when I convinced her it would be like any other house warming not an orgy. She had a good time there. Like your aunts birthday party its hard to ask them why will they do this but not that without causing them to get defensive and maybe erasing any progress.

I find your comment about Mexican JWs in service interesting. That is who I mostly see out in service in my area. Maybe they take it more serious than the English speaking congregation. I do however notice that they do look just as miserable as any other group of JW out doing the work of the Watchtower.
